Anyone who knows Sonex builder Robbie Culver and saw him at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh this year saw a slightly different Robbie. There was a slightly larger smile on this face, and an extra spring in his step, as he was tickled pink to have flown his Sonex to AirVenture. This wasn’t the first time he’s flown his aircraft to AirVenture, but the first since moving from Illinois to his hangar home in Texas. “I am always up for a good aviation adventure,” remarks Robbie, “and this one didn’t disappoint.”
Robbie wrote about his adventure in two installments, which you can enjoy online:
- His trip to Oshkosh was chronicled in the AirVenture Today newswpaper, which Robbie writes for, and is available online at inpsire.eaa.org
- Robbie also make a detailed report of his flight home to Texas, which can be found on the SonexBuilders.net discussion group.
“If you’re still building,” writes Robbie, “keep at it! The journey is worth the reward at the end!”
