“Motivated by Madison: Building a Mini-Waco” by Andrew Maitland
Andy Maitland of Cranberry, PA built a 3/4 Scale Cabin Waco powered by an AeroConversions AeroVee Engine. Maitland reports cruise speeds of approximately 85 mph, max speed approximately 90 mph, and climb rates of approximately 1,000 fpm single pilot. Empty weight quoted in Sport Aviation article is incorrect: actual empty weight is 780 lbs according to builder.
