Sonex 1359
On Sunday, July 10, 2016, at 7:25 AM, Sonex S/N 1359 flew for the first time after 5 ½ years of construction. Plane and VW performed great! N9SN received its Special Airworthiness Certificate June 28 from EAA Hall of Fame DAR Lowell Farrand. Transition training in June also made the first flight less tense with a special thanks to Bob Helm for all of the coaching from the right seat during my training/flight review over a weekend; with thanks to Kerry and Joe also for all those questions answered during the build. Big thanks to my wife for lending the sometimes needed additional hand - she is now fully cleco and pop rivet qualified - and for making my upholstery. And special thanks also to all the members of EAA Chapter 110 in Louisville for all of their help along the path of this journey.
