Sonex 1202
Building Partner: Brian Ham
the first flight of my Sonex took place four years ago in Jan 2014 and has now completed 350 hrs. It is kit #1202 and took 5 yrs to build and is constructed as a tail dragger with a Jabiru 6 cyl 3300 engine. It was a pleasure to build and I have enjoyed every hour of flying it. I accumulated 35 hrs on three other Sonex’s before test flying this aircraft and during construction we made some minor changes such as, hydraulic brakes with independent brake pedals, a castoring tail wheel, dual throttles, a metal auxiliary fuel tank behind the seat, a higher instrument panel and metal tips on the wing, tailplane and the fin. I am based in Melbourne Australia and am an active member of the Sonex Aus group.
