Congratulations to Brock Aldrich, builder of SubSonex s/n JSX0024 for earning a Bronze Lindy Award at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2021! Brock’s aircraft first flew on October 9, 2020 and in addition to flying the little jet, Brock has been focusing on the aesthetic touches, culminating in a fresh and stunning paint job completed just prior to his arrival at Oskosh ’21.
In addition to a great paint job, Brock’s SubSonex includes a custom carbon fiber engine pylon fairing, a wrap that makes the SubSonex rotationally molded tank (a huge safety improvement vs. welded aluminum fuel cells) still look like a welded tank, machined rubber trim accents, including a preflight sight guage for the fuel tank, and custom upholstery.
This is the 3rd award bestowed upon a SubSonex at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh since 2017, which is incredible considering the relatively short amount of time the aircraft has been available and the relative size of the niche aircraft’s worldwide fleet.
