A few announcements from Sonex,ltd:

Kitplanes recently granted permission to Sonex, ltd to publish the Waiex and Xenos Flight Review Articles on this Web Site. These Reviews originally appeared in the April 2005 edition of Kitplanes Magazine. Links to these articles are located below:
Pedal to the Metal-The Y-Tail Waiex combines unusual style with refreshing speed. By Dan Johnson.
Soaring with Sonex Designer John Monnett returns to the motorglider scene with the two-place Xenos. By Murry Rozansky

There will be a price increase on Sonex,Waiex, and Xenos Kits coming on January 31st of 2006. This increase is due to increases in raw material costs. We anticipate this price increase will be in the $500 range for all 3 kits. There will also be some small additional items added to the kits which will be made available to all builders in packages. Look for these announcements on these egroups and on our web site in January.

Sonex will again be shutting down for year-end inventory and other project work from Friday December 23rd reopening Tuesday January 3rd. Please plan your part order and tech calls accordingly. We will still be checking e-mail during this time. See the Homepage for contact e-mail address.

We are pleased to report that sales continue to be extremely strong on all of our product lines. Thank you again to all builders for your support. We look forward to working with each and every one of you all the way to completion.

Happy Holidays from all of us at Sonex.

Sonex, ltd was pleased to receive the "Small Business of the Year Award" at the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce's annual meeting on November 7th, 2005. The Press Release from the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce Follows:

OSHKOSH (November 8, 2005)
Sonex, Ltd. received the Small Business of the Year Award Monday evening.

The award was presented during the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce's 98th Annual Meeting and Recognition Program, held at the Oshkosh Convention Center.

The Monnett family, owners of Sonex, Ltd., is a leader in the homebuilt aircraft design industry and the aviation industry in general.

John Monnett and his family have been a part of the aviation industry for decades. They have experienced financial hardship, and, most recently, profound success. They have penetrated new markets with their product, distinguished themselves from the competition and persevered with a reputation in the industry that stands for simplicity, affordability and performance.

Sonex was founded in 1997 at the home of John and Betty Monnett. Since 1998, sales of their homebuilt aircraft plans, kits and components have soared. In just the past four years, the company has averaged 30 percent growth, and Sonex aircraft are now flying or under construction in 23 countries on every continent. The Monnetts attribute this growth to producing a consistent product that allows aviators to build their own airplane for an affordable price. While plans for the aircraft took thousands of hours to complete, the tenacity has paid off in the long run. Customers have fewer technical questions and know they are purchasing a safe, reliable aircraft.

The Monnetts' success has not gone unnoticed. Their story has been featured not only in local publications, but also in Forbes Magazine and Popular Mechanics.

Not only are the Monnetts well-known in the aviation industry, but they are well-known in Oshkosh, where the entire family has immersed themselves in service to the community. Family members serve non-profit organizations and are members of service clubs, EAA and Chamber committees.
